Installing factory efi pump - help?

This may seem silly, but anyone who has tried this can surely sympathise with me.
I'm trying to re-install a fuel pump into an EFI fuel tank. I just took it out to replace it with another. The two pumps externally are 100% identical having come from the same manufacturer. Even the filter is 100% identical externally.
I can see where the pump needs to sit inside the baffling in the centre of the tank, but no amount of prying, swearing or approaching from different angles seems to help at all. I just can't get it to go in correctly.
If anyone has done this before, please help!
If it helps it's an RT142 Corona, but most Toyota EFI tanks seem very very similar so I'd say that anyone who has done one will know how to do it.
I can only find a diagram of the fuel tank in the service manual, no instructions on how to fit it (I would have thought it simple until I tried it!!)

I know what your dealing with man, those bracket/pump setups are a barstard. You have to rotate it as you put it in on an angle.

It's quite annoying actually. Here's me, Mr. Engine Conversion and I can't put a fucking fuel pump in a fuel tank. It's getting to the point where I'm going to have to pay somefucker to do it for me

I had the same problem putting my Walbro pump in the Supra, it's a prick to get in! But I know this bloke called Brett who figured out how it's done and had it in there in no time at all. Since you LIVE WITH Brett, perhaps you should ask him to help you?
