The night I purchased my RA28 I nearly made it home when the speedo flatlined. I have put her up on ramps and checked out the gearbox end and it seems fine... Can you get to the other end from under the dash or do you need to take the dash out?
I wanna know if it's worth tackling the task myself or should I entrust it to some yokel mechanic? I know my speeds by the sound and the rev's/gear but I like everything to work

The speedo's in them aren't that great. I've replaced one of mine already (200km/ph in first gear, don't think that's right)
Try replacing it. Easy to do. Go to the wreckers and buy one for $20. To take them out it's fairly easy. Just undo about 10 screws from the woodgrain panel (also have to remove the ash tray) and then I think there is 4 screws holding the Speedo/Tacho cluster in.
Very simple. I've pulled my dash apart quite a few times now, not hard at all.
