Not profiteering the opposite! RWD AE86 Bluetop Intake Manifolds are plentiful here and what I was going to suggest is if people need them I could get them cheap...Thanks for the vote of confidence though Ginger.

Basically divide by 2 - so 110USD. Also need to factor in shipping though. That can often cost more than the part!

Ginger - its no different us selling our Sprinter tail lights to US buyers. The advantage for them is that the US dollar buys significantly more than the Pacific Peso (AUD).

And as Rex said, these are becoming quite hard to locate over here as they only ever came on import motors.

The Aus delivered AE86's are basically equivalent to your SR5's. Single overhead cam, carby 1.6, drum rear axle, solid front discs, but with the Levin front end (not popup headlights).

Hey Denis & Rex
I beg to differ, but you've got it all wrong! Confused
No more then 3 weeks ago I came across not 1, but 2! RWD t-vis inlet manifolds here in Adelaide, SA.
This was after just 1 day hunting through a couple of wreckers!

Sometimes I just think that people who want this stuff cant be bothered taking the time to look for it, & further more when these so-called rare parts become available they Bitch & moan about the asking price!
Good luck in your endeavor AE86nS13.

gingernuts ... i think you may have got lucky

i rang many wreckers and many said not a chance. some had them and ask if id like a motor attached to it. that is, would not seperate as the know the rarity

do you know how much the wrecker wanted for them?
or do u know if they would seperate?

the place i got mine from wouldnt sell the manifold by itself, i had to buy the crap attached to it aswell.

there were only a limited number in aust to start with and with people using them for turbo conversions and people with clubmans snapping them up. they are getting harder and harder to source at reasonable prices

Yeah they are getting pretty hard to find, and pricey.
I was lucky enough to pick one up from SSS a year or 2 back for $50. Gotta be happy with that. Smile

who said i told him they were rare. if the place had no idea i would have laugh in there face and tried to bargain. its a bit hard when they do know the rarity of them. told me that they had sold 5 in the last month to people with clubmans. not much i could do. 220 was only a little more then i wanted to spend

I'd like to trade a few manifolds or whatever else someone needs for a Levin front end for my car! =D Or maybe some parts and some money, I'm not really sure yet, this is more of a thinking out loud thing. I love the Levin front end, esp. over the pop ups on my coupe.

Whats the difference between Australlian tail lights and others?

Don't really find AE86 in wrecking yards here, I've only ever seen one in Adelaide. there were only 4000 imported into Australia between 1983-84, as far as I know.
