Looking into a 3 row core to fit your original tanks might be an idea? Probably set you back about $500+ tho...but at least you know it will fit perfectly.

go to a radiator place, say "tell me about cars that have factory aluminium radiators" and see if any are suitable, some might even be affordable.

Knowing Robbo he will ask for advice then spend 3 hours arguing that the advice given is incorrect.

you can get a custom alloy job made up, cost you a packet, but frig me they look great and you can get the biggest size that will fit then.
i'm getting an alloy job done up for my ta22, it's only 2 row, but it will do the job easy

Hell yes - if you've got the money to spend, go grab a custom alloy job, V8 supercar style. Big 6 core jobbie looks FAT! That said, the rest of us can't really AFFORD that kind of extravagance!
Thing is, try the MA61 rad - it might like like a horrendously skinny horrible thing, but you might be amazed at just what it can handle - often old school muscle cars cook because:
1. They are running SO far from efficiency range that they generate far too much heat - e.g. 308, 288+ cam, tunnel ram = brewing teapot at the lights (if you can get the thing to actually idle!)
2. A lot of people really mess up the installation of radiators - you've got to get ALL the air that comes through the front of the car through the rad - not round the edges or anywhere else. Then you've got to get it out - bonnet vents, front spoilers, etc. help here.

ask any decent radiator place...
suddenly youll find that the ma61 radiator is physically LARGER than that found in front of most 5.0L's, not only that, but toyota cores have their cooling vanes closer together - 14mm compared to 10mm (or something like that) so core density is WAY up. generally the stock ma61 core (provided it gets good airflow - my pity on all you sods with intercoolers and aircon gear in front of your rad - no wonder they overheat!) is PLENTY good enough for almost all applications.
a 3 row will be your best best @ about $340 (syd prices).
But, alas, I suspect young robbo here will look at a VN or VL radiator, and think "errr, um, wow, its big" and put it in anyway.
