i was gunna put my SX corolla seats in my celica but i found them to high and to wide!

edit: celica not rolla

i know for a fact that they dont phisically fit
the distance from runner to runner is just too big
they simply dont fit between the transmission tunnel and the sill panel ( Rolling Eyes if thats the name of it)

height wise they are ok but negative on the width

pity cause they are a nice seat Sad

you're spot on there. they don't fit (doh) toooooo wide.

so besides prelude and mx5 seats who has what else in their TA22

Dorkinks MX5 seat swap came out well Greg , as an alternative ..

the prelude seats i had were awesome - but just a shade too high for my liking ..

yeah, dori took me for a blast in his beast some time ago - stunning! those seats are grouse as. i might price a pair but guessing this time of year most places will be CLOSED.

stu what do you mean by too high (you sat too high up) - ie: the squab down the bottom was right up there?

failing that i know a trimmer who might be able to retrim the standard seats and bolster the shit out of them - then there is meridian and the sparcos...

i got a cobra trophy race seat, just fits in width wise, but i had to fix it without rails because of hight and forward position.

I've got 180sx/silvia seats in my RA, which can't be too different from TA.

I originally had the honda prelude seats but as stated above just sat too high and I'm only 5'10 or so.

But the nissan seats are good i think. Sit around the same height as the original ones, maybe even a bit lower.

no good for me joel then i'm 6 foot and a bit last i remember...

might look for some r32 seats.....got some pricing on some sparco's this morning and well if they'll fit which they should would turn out quite expensive...

actually i'll take back what i said. they DO indeed fit

heres the proof :

i've only tack welded (i hate arc welding) my frame to the bottom of the seat - the frame needs to be mounted forward about 1" - will fix when i get it TIG'd by meridian motorsport soon.

the slider will need a custom handle on it, the trans tunnel side has 10cm to run on and the sill side is well bees dick material.

Dont know if my seats are AE101 but they look similar and fit no problems (apart from a little light engineering!) Smile

they're ae101 levin (2 door 4AGE 20v) seats.

did some more sussing lastnight - i have to mount them 100mm further back, not much of an issue just need to increase the length of the rails at the front (with some 4mm flat bar)

used angle iron instead. now 100mm further back - much much better!

makes for an interesting drive now.
they're a very different seat to the old TA22 ones...

4mm angle iron and 4mm strap - as toby says you could pick up the car via the seats - nothing like overengineering!

a big thanks to MERIDIAN MOTORSPORT for their expert TIG welding (YES toby that means YOU) to make this possible (as christ knows my ARC welding is shithouse)

ps: if anyone is interested in the dimensions/measurements here let me know...i can tell u the track width is 540mm on the levin seat and the celica is 430mm.
