limiting boost Tue, 22 April 2003 11:36 Go to next message
hi

i'm in need of limiting my boost from my sc14 charger on my hilux 4y-c to around 4psi (plenty for what i need it for) any ideas??, will a boost controller (manual) work this low psi?? I currently have two bosch blow off/bypass valves fitted and plumbed to manifold vaccum port. any higher than 3-4psi and my car starts blowing fuel out past accelerator pump. plan on later going injection so dont want to spends up big just want to get it running.

thanks

most straight forward way is to put a bigger diameter pulley on the supercharger, making in spin slower in relation to the engine, and produce less boost.

you could just put a bypass pipe that goes between the inlet and outlet of the sharger (no valves or anything though) just a pipe (20 -30 mm?????)

dunno, just design your engine to cope with the more boost, or take off the charger until you can do it properly??
