Hi
Does anyone know where I can find info about the 18R-E, tech info, availablity, etc. I have an excelent condition 18R-C with Pacemaker headers already, and I'm just gaugeing what I have to do to get hold of the 18R-E EFI bits.
Cheers
Evan

Evan...
I wish you luck.. I have never seen any pictures or anything. It was never released in Australia.
Why do you want EFI? More power? There are dual carb manifolds available from Redline, if you want more power and insist on keeping that motor..
If you want EFI, you can replace it with a 18RGEU. Direct bolt in.

Thanks Pumpkin, but I already have a Weber DGV on it, and if I go to upgrade, I want to go directly to EFI skipping all the fuss with 2 carbs. I had thought about a 18R-G / 18R-GEU but isn't it common that if i manage to find one of these engines, it is most likely to have been thrashed and in need of a rebuild? I am thinking of getting the head of the 18R-C ported / shaved / hardened valve seats (for high octane unleaded) as well as a mild crow cam and I think this, along with th EFI and the extractors / exhaust that is already there should be pretty respectable. comments?

PS. I also have a friend who builds custom EFI computers so moving to EFI should prove more powerful and efficient if I can get my hands on the manifolds and other bits.

getting your hands on manifolds and other such pieces will not be easy. Like pumpkin i have never seen and pic either on the internet or anywhere else of such a motor. 18R-GEU will be faaar easier to come by. If you also hunt well enough you can find one with a recent rebuild, or just in good condition. These motors are known to last over 200000k's between rebuilds!
Trust me, you will LOVE the 18R-GEU!!!
