I'm a few days away from doing an oil change on the 1j (those 2000km to victoria and back did it)
and I'm wondering how much oil the 1j takes?
it's got a chaser sump (which may make a difference), and I'd prefer to know a figure, as I think my dipstick may be wrong.
ta,
Greg

My 1J in the JZA-70 takes about 4.5 litres give or take. Of course I always change the filter with every change.
A 5 litre container of oil will do you the change plus any spillage/consumption.

My 1JZ took 6l (Chaser sump).
My friends JZX100 Chaser took 6l also.

6 litres?!?
crap.... maybe I should invest in another bottle of oil.
I've got a jza70 block, and a chaser sump. I'm guessing this means mine will take 6L as well

Yip, another bottle would be advisable.
I didn't think there would be 1l difference between the JZA70 sump and a JZX80 one. The JZZ30 one I also have looks about the same size??
O'well.

My 1JZGTE took about 7.5-8 litres. My motor is from a jzx90 chaser and has a large ford z9 filter, 200mm x 200mm oil cooler and about 2 metres of dash 10 hose. This makes my oil changes an expensive proposition when using Mobil 1.
