Just wanna get some information regarding the CT26 Turbo off a 7MGTE, If I was going to high flow it what inlet compressor wheel should I use and also is steel exhaust wheels stronger then the OEM wheel? will this enable more boost handling?

You put a T04E trim in there, that's what they all do, its the cheapest best option. Mines a 54mm inducer.

As for the exhaust wheel, they are steel standard. 1JZ one's arn't and tend to disintegrate around 15psi.

You don;t have to worry about the exhaust wheel problems.

As for how much boost, depends what size engine you put it on.

The 7MGTE CT26 has steel exhaust wheel , HI-Flowed with a TO4E standard shaft 60 Trim wheel and backcut the CT26 exhaust wheel should do the job .

On this topic... has anyone actually done a T04 Hi-flow and remember all of the measurements etc that need to be shaved off the housing?

I'm looking at purchasing a 2nd CT26 for a rebuild project and will get my dad to do the machining (he's a fitter and turner, and a toolmaker) but i can't just hand him all the bits and say "put that together please Dad!" Laughing

Sorry to kinda steal your post but you'll need to know the info i want anyway! Very Happy

Danners, I think that should be a job best left to the professionals. Purely because there a little things that would need to be done with the rebuild and highflow project that requires special eqiptment, e.g balancing the shaft, which requires the use of a balancing machine which is worth in the vecinity of 40k and only places the work with turbos and the like can perform such a job.

Thanks for the advice Fattony Very Happy

The only bits i decided i'd get done myself was to bore/hone out the housing and purchase the Garret wheel... all of the balancing I planned to get done professionally

I'm going to have a look and see if i can find any info on people that have actually done this mod to a CT26 rather than purchased the turbo already built like most of the people i know... if i find anything i'll post it up!

actually with the flowing thing, i'm told that rebuilding a ct26 so that all the toleences are right, ie not what they leave the factory with as they are pretty sloppy, they are good for about 27psi.

Danners im in the process of doing the same thing, my dad is modifying his own turbo high flowing it etc. Iv got a CT26 on my 7mgte and just want to buy the Garret TO4E compressor wheel and get the shaft balanced etc professional but Ive talk to a few people and they dont want to sell me the parts on there own or do the balancing so let me know how you go and ill do the same for you.
