1G-GTE into KE70

Does anyone know how muck trouble it would be to put a 1G-GTE in a KE70 corolla? My friend is interested in getting a KE70 an putting something turbo in it but not sure what. I imagine if you replaced the two turbos with one big one you could get some serious power out of this engine.
Thanks
Evan

I've seen a 1G-GTE into an AE86. There were radiator panel and firewall mods involved. Plus bashing of the tunnel to fit a W58.
The KE70's engine bay is identical to the AE86's AFAIK.
Lots of work. Plus you'd ruin the handling. Just stick a 4A-GZE in there and turbo it if you have the money.

well there are a couple 1g-gte ae86's in syd.
The one I saw had no firwall mods, just the radiator support moved forward a bit, looked like a very nice snug fit.
The guy also reckond it handled very well and he previously had a 4a-gze in an ae86.
His name was Nathan I think.

Thanks guys
It seems like a bit of an overkill, after talking again with my friend we think that a 3T-GTEU would be more suitable.
Has this been done often? Some of the TE** Corollas came with the 3T engine so I imagine it wouldn't be that hard putting it in a KE70. Would you just change the engine mounts and gearbox and/or bellhousing? (It would obvoiusly be a little more complicated that this, but is this the gist of it?)
Cheers

A 3T-GTE swap will be a piece of piss. Get a crossmember from a TE72 (aka T18) and the engine will bolt right in. If you want to risk using a T50 transmission (also from a T18) it will fit easy, but they're a bit weak so you're better off using a W55 if you can find one with the right bellhousing. I'm not sure if this is a bolt-in as such, but it shouldn't be hard to install.

ehendrikd, the KE70 that was at easternats was done by Rank Rotary. It was pretty easy to do from what they say and I saw.
Give Brad or Pete a ring on 03 95851906. Its got a auto behind it, but its still pretty inpressive. They also just finished putting one in a Bunderra that goes really well, on road and off.
