Open / Closed loop issues ....

With my upgraded throttle body, the engine is going to be running harder and at higher rpms etc at lower throttle positions, compared to the stock throttle body, yes?
now, from what i can figure, this harder/higher rpm 'sprited' driving management is normally handle by OPEN loop ecu function, as designated by the TPS over 75% or so.
but what will happen when such engine paramaters experienced during 'hard' driving, now occur (with the new larger t/b) at say 40% throttle?? will the TPS only be sending a 40% open signal, thus keep the ecu in closed loop mode?? is this necessarily a bad thing? i know it will have a tendancy to be lean, but this is a good thing for power as long as i look after detonation.
is driving utilising the sensors in closed loop a good thing? or is it better to rely on the lookup tables of open loop mode during hard driving?
obvioulsy 'pump' acceleration enrichment will still be looked after, but any clues as to how 'hard' driving with the new t/b might be affected??
cheers

Wow... very good question.
I guess it really depends on how the stock ECU is coded.
Many ECUs only drop into closed loop after say 5sec of no pedal movment.
I think all you can do is try it.
If you have problems it shouldnt be too dificult to play with the TPS to get the results your after.

yeah, i suspect it will be a case of drive and see...
just wondering if anyone can elaborate on the benefits/downsides of open/closed loop functioning...
cheers
