I need rear brake pads for an AE86 with Jap rear end. I am in Brisbane. Are they the same as anything else? Also, what are the discs worth?
Thanks,
Cal.

I've heard, but can't confirm, that the rear AE86 brakes are the same as AW11 MR2 ones... but like I said, I've never bothered to confirm it. Worth a shot tho.

Robin Berado from Perfourmance Motorsports over at Slacks Creek got the rear pads for mine. I'm not sure which model car they came from however he told me it was a simple matter of bringing the existing pads to Repco (or the equivalent) and matching the outline with the outlines in the Toyota brake catalogue.

Rear pad - DB421, EBC Street Kelvar cost about $85, I got mine cut out from EBC Greenstuff cost $165.
Rear disc - RDA7501, about $105 each.

I ended up getting Bendix Metal Kings for $65.
I will look at slotted rotors for the front, when the time comes. The solids on the rear will need doing next pad change too. They are just on the 9mm minimum.
Cheers,
Cal.
