Hi all.
I got a slight problem with my diff swap in my sprinter, I've got a hilux diff about to be put in I'm not sure exactly what model (its got a 5 stud bolt pattern)I bought it of this guy as well as an MA70 lsd and as far as i know they are both G? series centres?(the hilux one is an open ender)What i was wondering was,do u rip the guts out of the hilux diff and put in the MA70s lsd centre into it? is that possible?
I think i should have checked before i got it!

MA70 definitely has a G series diff.
Yes, you can hybrid the Supra diff into the Hilux carrier but you will need some slightly different bearings, depending on which Hilux carrier you have.

A little off topic and not directly related to the orignal question, but is there any difference in strength between the diffs in the models of Hilux available? Housing strength? All the axels are the same size I gather?

F series = 7.5" crown wheel.
G series = 8" crown wheel.

That's what I am using too. I believe there is a difference in carriers with ratios higher than 4.3:1 (so the diff places tell me anyway).
The side bearings (where the adjusters go) are different. I am using 32010 bearings. I actually haven't built one up yet....all I have done is the measuring and it looks like it will fit. It's all in a box packed away in a corner of the garage. I don't have a bearing press or a way to measure preload so it'll be a little while before it is done.
