If you can get the car engineered the way it is then you don't really need to do anything. But I doubt that will be the case.
If you do need bigger brakes it will be the engineer who decides and not some cop, this said the cop may be right. The bottom line is in the long run get it all engineered so when you get pulled over you can oull out the cert and smile smuggly....that should be enough.

smile smugly and they will defct you anyway, say very nicely "yes sir, no sir" etc, then give them a look at the engineers certificate. and always first say "good evening officer, how are you?" and mean it, you may as well expect to be treated well.
or just write 4-AC in big letters on the cam cover, and put checkerplate covers over everything, and hide the intercooler.

I take it your from NSW?
Ive just recently made my car legal.
-I firstly got my car weighed at a public weigh bridge. $20
-Then i booked my car at a RTA for emmissions IM240 testing
(Botany or Penrith do it) $Free
-Then i went to my engineer and got an engineers certificate $330
-Then had to get a blue slip for ID check etc $51
-Then hand it all in to RTA.
Thats about it. Bit of a PITA. But hopefully it'll save my butt.

I'm in the process of getting mine engineered.
Mangew can you PM me the details of your engineer as I'm in sydney too.
I'll hunt around for info on the RTA emissions test (unless you have the details on hand??) I work in Mascot so could do it in a lunch break. How long does it take? Do you need to wait in those stupidly long ques??

minto is 15 minutes away sweet
bummer about the pod filter tho the other guy said he would engineer mine. i wouldnt even know where to fit an air box i would prob have to relocate the washer and coolant bottles which is crap.
also i was told rta only do emissions not noise, the engineer tests that and for my car with a gze it needed to be under 90dB so i need another muffler DEFINATELY.

One other thing, the exhaust thing happened to me. but when they decibell count it the machine has to be one meter back and one meter above the pipe. They got me coz they put the measuring device right up the pipe and got me to rev to 5000....
if they did anything like this to you any competant exhaust shop should be able to write a letter to get this passed straight away.
