I'll consider that actually a good price
If it is in good nick.
Nice Original AE86s with factory 4age and LSD are hard to come by these days...
And they are undesputably a classic.

um...friends have check out the car...
it doesn't have LSD...
and....the Right hand rear quater panel has been damaged/repair
rust on the body under the rear hatch, the driver side B-pillar under the rubber trim... and rear hatch has been changed b4...
and the car is stock....even with original wheels....
$10000 is too much for a non-lsd car...
cheers..

I thought all ae86s in japan had LSD...
I know the GTS in america had LSD as an option.
But in that case, it's a bit pricey.

... and it's not a Trueno for that price either!
No ... LSD was an option for all AE86's and they never came standard.

Say, this may be far-fetched but you don't suppose that this car is the same one as in this thread?
http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30833
If not, any ideas of where this car could be? I don't know of any importers who bring in AE86's (up here in Qld anyway).
Someone give a lead on this car as well?

It's funny aye, you could prolly count the number of genuine JDM 86's in Australia with the number of finger and toes on your body...

Bah why would you be so adament (sp?) about getting a JDM AE86??
Real deal or not if they have not been scooped up already in japan chances are it is not that great!!
Look at cars like Mr20valves old black beauty and more recently Dodgy's panda levin!
True it might cost $$$$$ to get them like they are but a JDM AE86 most likely will need heaps of work done and heaps of $$$$ spent to it to get it driving nicely again!!
I think it all evens out in the end, import and freshen it up or Oz spec and good bits = roughly same amount of money in the end!

here here,
I've been trying to say the same thing in my recent thread!!!..
a 10k imported car would've been thrashed big time, and something like Mr 20v, or dodgy car are totally awesome, and in probably way better nick than the imports the we do SEE. (mind you the good jdm ones are taken up for stupid amounts of cash in jApan, and shitty rest gets exported).
rock on.

I guess what I'm trying to get at is whether this dealer is looking at making a quick $5K profit ...
I reckon you just waltz in there and say I'll pay $5K for it and see if they'll take it.
There can't be that many import dealers selling AE86's in Melbourne so I'm quite sure that is the same car.

Interior...
red color abit fade out on the front seat...
um...the dash has no crack
the words on the air-con control unit is orange in color like the ae82 twincam.....but there's a small crack..
the rear seat....the design is sightly different... have the arm rest on both side...therefore smaller seat and the rear headrest area is tear/ripped...
the door trim is perfect...and it's diffetent material, not velour but kind of plastic/fake leather.....

Ae85s interior looks exactly like the AusSpec.
never came with a digital dash,
or a factory front lip, and not the black and red color scheme.
plus the all important 4age.

Maybe negotiate them, and buy it with no compliance, rego, or anything.
I know someone who bot a levin like that, and he got it for less than half the price.
The jdm chassis was screwed (drift damage), but it made an awesome parts car. He made away like a bandit with JDM drift rims, suspension, heavily modded 4age with HKS extractors, intake, exahust, 2 way LSD, jap spec interior, levin grill and lights, spoiler, wind visors, etc. All in good running order mind you!It was an awesome drift circuit car, but the chassis couldn't hold up.
Basically, an entire rebirth. His car is good as new now.
But give it a go, I know these importers do do deals like that.

hi all check for club4ag.com there is a guy there who imports truenos and levins i emailed him fora quest altho i have an 86 gts hatch myself and basicly this was his email
The cheapest AE86 we have is the first one on the pictures. It has power steering, AC, LSD and a dual cam 4ag motor with 155 000 kilometers. It also has a nardi steering wheel. The cost for this vehicle plus shipping, taxes and fees is $4486 USD. The reason for the low price is because a customer from New Jersey was initially going to purchase the vehicle and made a down payment of $1700 USD. That was almost 3 months ago and we have not heard from him ever since. All the documentations and paper work will be taken care off, the only thing you need to do is get the vehicle registered to the DMV.
The other AE86 is $6786.89 USD It's a 1986 Sprinter Trueno in stock. The vehicle has 140 XXX Kilometers, Manual Transmission, Power Steering, LSD. The vehicle's condition is very good with no visible rust. The paint scheme is the traditional Panda white with no accidents on record. Please feel free to contact us if this vehicle insterests you.
Our site will be up and running in November 2005, sorry for any inconvinience
its posible to get a true levin or trueno for under 10k and a really good price posibly
