Need A Decent Rocketship

Hi, I'm wondering if you guys would know what small early model toyota would be best suited to a decent power upgrade. Typically I was looking at installing a 1JZ-gte. So I need to know what car would be cheapest and easiest to perform the conversion and I need to know how easy it is to upgrade brakes and diff etc etc. I'm after a car that will hammer on the strip and cruise round town. The main reason for wanting the 1JZ is because I fell in love with it when I was taken for a drive in a(wait for it!!)S13 Silvia, anyone who reads Zoom magazine will know what I'm on about. In fact I was set to buy the car.... banks!!! Anyway any help would be appriciated

Pretty much any older Toyota with an EFI six is going to be the easiest way to do it. We're talking MA61 Supra, MX73 Cressida, MS112 Crown, stuff like that. I personally recommend the Supra, but that's probably my bias showing.

you said you wanted easy... if you want easy, forget the corona
a cressida or supra is *much* easier, having a 6-cyl engine bay, and good enough brakes/diff/gbox

well it is probably one of the hardest cars to fit a 1jz into so if ease is what you are after then i would look elsewhere. ALso, are you sure this dude has 300kw SR20? That would be at least a GT30 600hp turbo not to mention pistons, rods probably head work massive cooler and a shit load of boost!

oh well, I guess a cressida it is then(hehehe). And with my mate bluebird, he is aiming for 300kw at the engine with his sr20. The turbo is a 25/30 and at the moment with only 7psi kills the tyres in second gear(untuned), sumthin that the standard turbo coudlnt do at 17psi and it maxed out at 150kw at the wheels(fully tuned). So with the 25/30 at 17psi he worked out that he should have around 210 to 220kw at the wheels(approx 300kw at the engine) maybe not dead on but it should come close.
