FS: MA61 Supra Fri, 21 June 2002 04:43 Go to next message
A mate is selling his Ma61. White, early model, tinted windows, 5 speed, tired 5me, brand new KYB shocks and King springs all round, new a509's on the rear (225/60/14). LSD, IRS, 4WDisks blah blah blah.
Car really needs a new motor. Also has a few cosmetic body problems. Flares are less than perfect. No the tailgate is not good. Not good at all.
But for $2000 with 6 months reg, what do you want? Can arrange RWC, but only for the right person. If you know what I mean.
Melbourne, no offers.

No, but I can tell you that all of the body damage is fixable. There are small dints in it, and the tailgate needs to be stripped back and sections will need to be welded into it. Or you could try and find a new one.
Mechanically, other than the engine, it is in fantastic order. It is one of the best handling cars of that size that I have driven. Really all it needs is a 6mg, and a paintjob by a competent beater. I would buy it myself, but there is a lack of spundoolies at the moment.

"tailgate is bad"
how bad are we talking here... nice fat holes, or a patch or 2 just going through?

The washer has rusted out. I know a guy who has quoted $200 to cut, weld, bog and spray it.
Rest of the body is pretty good, except for a few shopping trolly dints.
I think it is a bargin at $2000. The suspension just cost $800 3 months ago and the tyres are $150 each.
How can you go wrong?
If there are no buyers then it will be wrecked for parts.

Eastern Suburbs mate. Near Ringwood.
Call my mate on 0401056396. Ask for Goof.

Hmm, sounds a bit steep for one with a naffed engine and a rough body and a knackered hatch, no matter what else has been done to it. Still I might get a friend of mine to check it out if he can.

What kind of condition is the front of the car in? If it's no good there's no point my mate having a look at it..

I think it is a steal at $2000. There is no way known that you are going to find one cheaper. I could purchase the car, get it sprayed, put a 6mg in it and then fit a set of custom pipes and still have change left over from $5000. Since that is the asking price for a ma61 then I cannot see how you can call it expensive.

The front end is perfect. There is a small dint the size of a 5 cent peice in the bonnet. Everything else is spotless. If you want the front end then maybe we can talk, but I know exactly how much it is worth.

Hmm, sounds a bit better than I first thought. I'll see if my mate can have a squiz at it.

Yeah, I need front panels. Basically a whole nose. Would be better, cost wise, to get a "parts" car and strip it instead of trying to find all the bits for it.

BTW what colour is the interior?
