 Bigport and Smallport 1GGTE??

Okay, talking to some dude from NZ who was told by a workshop about there being big-port and small-port 1G's.
I know the Gen 2's are 1GGTEU's and the Gen 3's are just 1GGTE's, what is different between the two? I know the Gen 3 has more aggressive ECU tuning too, whats the other differences between the two engines other than the clutch size?

I haven't actually pulled the head off any Gen 3's so I can't say.
There's a size difference in the turbo inlet pipe between Gen 1 and Gen 3. Also the well documented differences in ECU and injectors. But I've never compared internals.

Did any of the 1G-GTEs have T-VIS? I know at least one of the 1G-GEs did, which would acount for a big port head.
