Clutch problems. Sun, 04 May 2003 01:17 Go to next message
Hey all

I was driving arround the other day and i suddenly lost half my clutch travel, i.e nothing for the first 2 inches or so and then the clutch operates fine. On inspection i found the master cylinder reservoir had a weap and im guessing a washer of some description needs to be replaced could this cause a big air bubble in the lines and a simple bleed would fix? or am i off track and need to re kit the master or slave cylinder

thanks

Daniel

did you try topping up the fluid?

most clutch complaints are easy fixed by bleeding, or at most replacement of one of the cylinders (slave or master)... if its an old car the diapragm may be deteriorated and not pushing as much fluid as it used to...

pull the rubber boots of the slave and master carfully. If theres brake fluid inside one of them then they need replacing. The boot for the master cylinder is under the dash.
