Bathurst rally Sun, 04 May 2003 04:25 Go to next message
Just got back from the rally lots of fun,
There were a fair fer toyotas there including 2 real Trueno's

We had a few dramas to say the least,
One of the front struts decided it was going to give up the ghost on the second stage and make the handling rather tricky, but we continued to the end, and because the suspension wasnt great i took a jump a litle too fast and landed heavely which broke the bracket that was holding the ignitor coil on, so the engine stopped for a few minutes on the stage while i made temporary repairs until next service. Then last but not least i misherd a call and ended up in the scrup boged on the long 50K stage, so we wasted more time getting unstuck.
Mt Panorama rocks at full speed Smile

I've watched this rally in the past and it's awsome. You can get pretty close to the action, and it's not really that far from Sydney.Normally a good mix of cars

Sounds fun...

I'd love to try Bathurst at full speed... 60km/h was a little to slow for me...

Damn Ben - Missed seeing your car there.

I was there servicing/spectating with my mate who was in car number 50. Was a fantastic event although i'm still scraping the dust out of my teeth today!! (There was absolutely no wind at one of the spectator points, and every car that went past gave us an absolute coating!!

(took a heap of photos that will be online later some time) Smile

I didn't recognise the car, or I would have said hello. I was standing behind you while you were getting scruitineered.

Did you like the inlet system I built for Mark S's car?

Thats all right Michael sometimes that family stuff just has to be done. I think we finished about 3rd last as with the ignition dramas and time to fix the bracket cost about 20 Min or more, wont really know until we get the results.
This rally was mainly just to get all the teething problems out of the car so we were happy just to finish, alot didnt..

Ben Wilson i auctually didnt get a chance to see the engine bay of Marks car, but at least he was on the pace, last results i saw i think he was leading P2 and about 15th overall ??

Cheers
Ben
