18rgeu oil filter and plugs ??? Sun, 04 May 2003 22:24 Go to next message
Hi people,

Just put in the 18rgeu into th ra23, and I find out that the generic (18R) ryco oil filter is too tall to fit on, it fouls on the efi intake. What filter do you guys use???

and another thing I have a book on the engine and it states different spark plugs for the 18r and 18rg. I think it is just the heat rating but I though I would ask those who have the engine. What do you all use??

thanks

use a z68 oil filter
about 1.5" shorter

u can use BP6ES plugs {about $4 ea}
but use either PFR6J-11 platinum {about $15-20}
or BPR6EIX iridium {about $12-16}
if u want u can change them to a 7 instead of a 6 but not really necessary if u only have the 8.X:1 comp
obviously platnium's are better as they can go for upto 100,000k without changing anf iridium's can go for 70k or so and the std's can go for 30k or so

but if u decide to go for the BP6ES, make sure u can put non resisted plugs in.
otherwise go for BPR6ES
