Hey witzl (or anyone else who works there), what happened to jaycar's audio range?

I was looking on their website and it seems all the good stuff has disappeared - the dual mags and the splits have all gone!

Any stories to tell?

hehe i'm really warming to the idea of workusa, too... just got off their website...

Looks like they have dropped their five channel amp - that thing was very underrated. Awesome amp........

well actually Chris, the dual mags still exist - they are just named different now. And the kevlar splits still exist too! The website has been recently upgraded and refurbished so things are a bit all over the shop...

the good old dual mag DVC big beeeefy sub is now called

CS-2228, 12" Response Precision Dual Magnet Subwoofer

and the kevlar splits are now known as

CS-2298, 6.5" Response Kevlar Split Speaker System

Next week ill bring a catalogue with me to give you dude

Youngy - the 5 channel amp was discontinued due to declining build quality. They became more and more troublesome from memory. Yes they were underrated - but then again so is the 4 x 100W rms amplifier. That sucker has been bench tested at 4 x 136Wrms @ 13.8VDC, and 2 x 350Wrms @ 13.8VDC!!

sweet. Thanks for the tip karl!

One of my mates has a jaycar 5-channel lying around that doesn't work. He tells me he crunched a kerb one time going round a corner, and the amp hasn't worked since. Easy to fix? If so i might buy it off him!

To tell the truth Witzl the problem with the 5 channel was actually customer related...

The fifth (sub) channel was only rated to 4 ohms and people kept running it at 2 ohms and they go up in smoke!

Chris... check out the new 10" with dual 2ohm VC's (CS2366) this thing is going to go hard

Lock it in karl, i'll buy it off him, and give it to you to fix for sure!

Flipping about time i got a decent amp!!!

... so 4 ohms is the trick with the sub channel. Yeah i think my mate had two 4 ohm subs in parrallel giving 2 ohms... that would been what killed it.
