easier to install
- both have their difficulties. Both motors were made FWD only so all the water outlets, dizzy's etc are at the rear. Much of a muchness here

Cheaper to install:
- Erm. Probably the 20V. Im not 100% certain but im just saying that because of the intercooler front mounting required on the GZE

Faster:
- GZE. No doubt about it.

Easy to find:
- Both are relatively easy to get. Just shop around. GZE will cost a couple of bananas extra tho, not much.

Don't most of the GZE's have DLI and coil packs?

Not a 4AGE expert by any means but, if the GZE has DLI I would think that this would almost offset the intercooler troubles. Don't most ppl go aftermarket / firewall cutting when doing RWD 20vlv?

I think the GZE is faster on the street (better pickup, sc!), a 20vlv is prbly a nose faster on a track when kept high in the revs tho.

I don't think you will have troubles getting either motor these days in a front cut.

In terms of potential you can always drop the SC off a GZE and add a turbo or keep the SC and get a bigger puller for more boost, then it will be much better than the 20 valve...!

Cheers

ive done both conversions

if u have an efi 4age in yr car at moment then its pretty easy

only prob u get is if u get the 4agze with the lsd gbox, it has bigger shafts so u have to change the struts/hubs aswell, for some reason i had to made custom or modify the fron tn rear engine mounts

the 4agze needs a scope in the bonnet for it to shut or
u could mount a front mount bit thats abit of a shit fight,
u can get an exhuast place to make pipes if u go that way

i can do the wiring on both these engines for a price
they will look just like standard wiring

uhmm I think he said its going into an AE86 not a FWD

I would think very carefully about what you are wanting from your engine in terms of performance.

If you just want to go really fast off the lights then by all means get the GZE

Personally the 20V is more effort than the performance and a 100Kw is cheaper, easier and will give you better reliable hassle free power with a few simple mods (which will probhably cost less than doing the 20V all up) and you wont have to use the SST to modify the firewall to fit the dizzy.

GZE is an easy install and the best way is to mount the intercooler out front or it just becomes a standard interwarmer Smile the downside is if you plan on punishing the engine the drivetrain and chasis will eventually start to hurt too, first to go is generally the S series diff so I would include an upgrade in your pricing before starting the conversion. Another thing to thing about is some strutt braces to help ease the twist on the chasis from the extra torque of the GZE, dont forget the dodgy set of import tires every 3 months too Smile

good luck with it all
