Hey. Ok, i have a ta22 celica with a 2tgeu. What i want to know is, has anybody here fitted a 4agze supercharger to this engine, if i did this, would i need to convert it to EFI, and is this hard? Do you have details? How about turbo instead?
Next, would i be better off getting a 18r engine and working from that? Has anybody done this and is it hard to get parts etc? Hard to fit?? can i use my gearbox (5 speed) from my ta22? Anything special i should know? How much difference would that engine have from my 2tg, would it be worth the hassle?
Lastly has anybody ever fitted a ca18det to a ta22? only reason i ask is because a guy i know has a nice one for sale.
Any help would be appreciated, also i'd appreciate opinions from you guys and any experience you've had.

troy, yer a dude has fitted a sc12 to a 2TG - joe i think his name was - he's on here somewhere.
18r is slightly larger capacity than the 2T but, in my mind would be alot of work to fit.
a ca18det in the ta22 would be a nice conversion for you and quite worthwhile, just watch those darn coil packs they can be expensive to replace if faulty.

if you want the car to haul ass you go the ca18det.. a lil bit tricky to fit but will be worth while it has been done it alot of cars around the same weight and they went very hard.. liek the lil datto 1200's .... you will need to get the ca18 gearbox or an adaptor/bellhousing to fit onto your celica gearbox and adapt to the motor bit opf money to send but will eb worth it int he end.. if you are starting from scratch why not.. is the 2tg efi? if it is you mayas well rebuild that and turbo it cause it will go predyd hard with that to

if you have a 2T-GEU, wouldn't it already have EFI?
i'm going to assume you have the carb setup so..
there two ways you can do this with the supercharger, 'suck through' and 'blow through' methods
suck through is where the carbie is before the supercharger and the A/F misture is sucked through, and blow through is where the air is compressed - then passes through the carbie. I personally wouldnt do anything this major without first rebuilding the whole engine, with stronger internals and the other usuals...
i'd say an 18R-GU or 18R-GEU would be your best be if your going for cheap power, or you could just put a 3T-GTE into it... there heaps of options, we dont know what your going to be using the car for so we cant really tell you what to put it in that will suite your needs...
if you end yo using the 18R i'd go to a W50 gearbox, they're a little stronger, however, slightly heavier
cheers
