To everyone out there.......
I am at the stage of geting the shell prepped and sprayed up. I want to know where a GOOD spray painter is (in Sydney).....Bigworm??? I dont want a show quality job, just a nice paint job.....i dont mind paying good money for good work, just so long as it is a quality job!

Sorry, the guy that did mine packed up shop & left town not long after he did mine, I'm wondering if maybe I sent him broke, as my car was there alot longer than he/we planned for it to be, and he was a 1 man operation, so I think it held him up a fair bit. Plus he wrote off his car when he came round to suss out mine for the first time.
But anyway, even if he was still around, I wouldn't suggest him too highly. I could point out a hundred little things with the paint that piss me off.
If I was to do up another celica, I prolly wouldn't do all the preperation and panel lining up etc agin myself, fuck it's stressfull. But yeah, I cut out all the rust (expensive to have done by someone else) and patched it all up with a mig, and did heaps of filling/bogging and sanded back most of the old paint, probably 90% of the preperation in total, then found someone who would paint it all.
I gave all the panells seperately, and all the other little bits that needed painting, and supplied the paint, and for 2 grand, he did a bit more preperation, hi-filled it, sanded it all back again, then topcoated it and handed it all back, and I assembled the bitch.
One thing I wish is that I got it painted with the panels on. I would get all the undersides painted, and all the door jams etc painted, then bolted all the panels on and painted the whole outside, it's not fun handling freshly painted panels and trying to line them up. Celica doors are heavy, especially if you've assembled them with the windows & everything. 
So anyway, expect it to cost a fair bit, depending on how much work you're gonna do, and maybe check out some car mags, and look at the end of the articles, it usually says who did the paintwork for each car. Find a place that's done a couple of nice cars. Also one that's fairly local, as it's handy to be able to drop in regularily.
Although I think any place you go to is gonna give you the same grief, ie taking longer than planned, charging you more than you reckon's fair etc, the main thing is how it turns out in the end.

yeah ill research good
but the paintjob is after the conversion, and my conversion is end of this year hopefully so it'll be a while
im thinking of going really dark navy blue
iv got cream interior too so it would go well with that
dont wanna spend more than $2500 on the paint, as i prefer performance over looks, but i REALLY need a paint job so im willing to invest into it.
