How do i tell what Differential i have? Sat, 22 June 2002 10:39 Go to next message
Ok just wondering if there is a way of identifying what differential i have?
I bought my celica with an 18R-GEU already in it and i do not know what parts have been put in it.

i compared the outer housing with a friends corona which is basicly a celica with a different shape. and it has different ribbing on the outer case. i have a feeling it may be a hilux diff but i am unsure. would someone be able to tell me if i posted a piccy?

I think the standard diff is a 6.7" 4.1:1 ratio. A 18RGEU will not require anything stronger unless it has been worked alot. Compare with another celica. If it hasn't been touched its a 6.7", probably 4.1:1 ratio, check the ID plate on the fire wall.
