AE82 lights on an AE86

i have been told that with a little bracket modding it isnt too hard to get AE82 lights on your sprinter
which if true is great because there are lots of AE82 lights and not many sprinter ones
and if the bracketing isnt too hard there light be a little market for people to sell the brackets
i guess after you have made one you could make them pretty easy
any thoughts people

I'd like to find out about this also, as after being quoted $450 each headlight from toyota! I need to find some other options.

i think that the ae82 glass can be used in place of the sprinter glass, but im not sure if the whole light will fit.

JDM Hachi is correct ...
The lenses and the inner housings are the same however the mounting box on the outside are not interchangeable.
Hence, if your lenses are cracked and need replacing, just go to a scrapyard and you will find many AE82 headlights easily and cheap.
If you've front ended your AE86 and your lights are busted ... good luck finding another Sprinter in a scrapyard! Most that I come across have frontal damage - no doubt testament to the ability of many AE86 drivers out there ...

Well yes and no...
I've actually aquired a whole AE86 with 4agze from Cairns of all places. Its on its way down on a truck now as we speak.
The guy says it has a spare set of headlights with it, so I might be in luck.. Still chasing bumper bar brackets/mounts and the support that runs from the radiator support down to the grill etc.
Will know more when the sprinter turns up and see what kind of nick its in, decide then to scrap it for parts or build it up.
Cheers
Joel
