7MGTE, Cracked Block Fri, 09 May 2003 12:54 Go to next message
Just pulled my 7MGTE down to rebuild it and found that the block was cracked near the water jackets on the exhaust side, has anyone seen this before? My dad works for Toyota and has rebuilt many of these motors and has never seen this before. Has it happened to anyone before? Now I need even more money to spend on the darn thing...

Celica Boy,
If you're located in Melbourne, I might have a spare 7M GTE block available.

Thank Laurie D, I got a spare one it just needs to be sleeved in one bore. I am not even going to touch the block untill it has been crack tested. To everyone with 7MGTE when you do a head gasket check the block out for cracks no matter what even if the motor was running okay.
