G'day,
Anyone got some Idea how much it costs to ship a car in from NZ?
I'm interested in bringing in a KP60/61 toyota starlet 3 door, I really like that little car. And I think it would be a competitive tarmac rally car (I'm in Tassie). Anybody got some ideas? Also, info on the web I've found so far is pretty scant, does somebody know any good sites for info/pics on them? Japanese is fine.
cheers,
floody

My Starlet is here - http://www.billzilla.org/starlet.htm
I imported it in early 1999 and for various reasons haven't really got around to getting on the road in Aus. But this is changing, and work is being done on it; all going well it'll be on the road by the end of the year.
It's perhaps best described as an 80% scale Sprinter, though it looks a lot like a G11 Charade.
Starlet forum here - http://www.club-k.co.nz/Forums/index.php
I think there might be another one or maybe two in Aus though I have no way of checking this unfortunately.
FWIW the car is getting the current ~180hp odd 4AGE in my Sprinter, then up to a ~230hp odd 4AFE that's being built.
Then for fun I'll put together a healthy 7AGTE 20v headed engine in it.
Should be fun in a car that'll weigh a little over 800kgs on the road!

Here is a finnish link with some good "in the build" photos.
http://www.hut.fi/~mkolari/orangetoy/
I have owned 4 of these, currently build one up for race use with a 3T-GTEU/W55 and IRS from a TA63 Toyota Carina and the firewall recessed 4 inches. The Club K link Bill posted below is a good place to start, there are members with 4AGE's, 20 valves, supercharged 5k's and even a 2l Cortina motor in a rally starlet.
