I noticed that one of my 2TC engines has a downdraught weber on it. Is this standard on any model TA22's?

All 2t's that came to australia had the Aisan 2 barrel downdraft unit , which is basically a good paperweight, nothing more
if yours has a weber then big bonus !

None of the LT's came with anything more than AISAN's, tho ST's and GT's had twin webers or solexs

Tanman,
LT had single down draft Aisan
ST had Twin down Draft Aisan
GT has twin side draft Solex's
The 32/36 Downdraft weber is a popular replacement for the LT carb tho.

No Webers were standard, (esp since these are Italian carbies), although I'm sure there are aftermarket manifolds out there gathering dust. A friend of mine had a TA23 which had a sidedraught webber on an obviously-not-standard manifold. Went great, I mean 2Ts are pretty revvy engines anyway, and with extractors it flew.

TDR78
your SU look alikes would be exactly that, my brother has a set on his Datsun Stanza, he got them off a SSS 180B. They are just and SU copy, they'll be better than standard(not that thats too hard) my bros car is way torquey and got a heap extra power from them, not too bad a mod.

So there will be a noticable diference if i get them on and a bigger cam at the same time? They would still be nowhere near as good as Solexes tho i imagineż
