Supercharger.. Sat, 10 May 2003 07:00 Go to next message
my friend just purchased a AW11 MR2 Supercharge 1986 model...
and just wondering will a Supercharger from a 1GGZE fits on the 4agze? if so....what's the different it gives?
and..is the pulley inter-chageable between the 1GGZE and the 4agze..? because it has aftermarket pulley currently running on the 4agze's charger...
thanks...

You can fit the sc14 onto a gze. All that is required is modifying the bottom mount and fabricating a top mount.

Having said this, without some sheetmetal mods to the rear firewall you'd be hard pressed to get the sc14 in a mr2. Due to its size it sits out quite a bit further from the block.

I'm running this setup on my ae86 with a standard gze computer (far from optimal) and it gets 9psi from 2000rpm building to 11-12 which it will hold till redline. The bigger sc also allows the gze to be revved without tapering off as bad.

And no the pulleys are not interchangeable. It may be possible to make the sc12 pulley fit onto an sc14 with some form of custom spacer.

Are you sure its a custom pulley on the s/c. The more common method is to fit a larger crank pulley (i.e. Nevo). There were custom clutch pulley setups for the s/c available in Japan but they were prohibitively expensive.
