I'm hopeless and urgently need YOUR help!!!

Hey guys,
with my debts almost paid off I'm getting serious about doing some work to get my very slow 4ac ae82 up to a more acceptable and fun standard.
The real question is not what upgrade path to take but whether i should keep my singlecam rolla and work it or should I buy a twincam model and take it from there? If i took the twinky option I'd be getting a power increase immediately, but the SE rolla would be a much lower profile sleeper. The singlecamer has alot of k's on it so i doubt i could get all that much for it and i'd lose alot from what i paid for it, but that's probably to be expected.
What do you guys reckon? Bearing in mind that I'd be upgrading suspension, engine, gearbox, etc in either car, so neither would stay stock.
Anyhow, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give me your thoughts and advice as u guys r the ones with the no how on car matters.
Cheers, Tim.

dude your not hopeless, you are just curious about what to do
this depends on how far you want to go with your upgrade
you could spend a bit of money on your tired motor but if you are unsure of it's reliability now it will be under more stress with added performance components
if i was you i would get a 4agze, big power increase, fits straight in

G'day
you can do a lot of things... that's the beauty with rolla's...
as was said you can most definately go the 4a-gze... but you could also do the 20v 4a-ge if you didn't want a forced induction engine...
the gze definately has a lot more potential and they are a lot more fun, but if you are after power with simplicity the 20v 4a-ge is another option...
you could also look into the posibility of squeezing a 3s-gte into the tiny engine bay... i know this is physically possible, but then you have to ask yourself the big question
HOW MUCH MONEY DO I WANT TO SPEND???
Ponder that while you do some research!!

the best bang for bucks (and effort) is definitly the gze ... a 3s-gte will technically fit, but it's kinda like sucking a golf ball through a garden hose
so, as always, the question is how much do you want to spend? by the sounds of things you'd definitly want a new engine, so start looking into that first

hey there mate, i have put the 4agze into my ae82 rola, it was a good old 4ac, ran very nice never had a problem but just wanted more power, and tell u what, i got it
it toke me 6weeks to drive it in with the 4ac and drive it out my garage at home with the 4agze in her, but then again i had everything i needed at home to do the conversion
i upgradeed the brakes by adding ae82 twincam rear disc, and ae 92 front hubs and disc to take the bigger driveshafts, i have got bigger better brakes ready to go on yet i also put the twincam fuel tank in as it has the fuel pump witch u will need to do if u put the 4agze or 20v in, also the main fuel line from a twincam as its bigger then the carby one, witch u need do u changeing from carby to efi
i also added the gze wiring and adapted the rear wiring to fit also i have done a aus and nz first, i have fitted the ae101 black import dash into my ae82 rola. (wouldnt do it again tho, nothing lines up, have to make everything for it, cut tags off, re-weld new ones on)
my rola is a nice sleeper at the moment, not many ppl can tell what it is, all u can hear coming is a huge induction noise and supercharger wine and as i past all u can hear as i go is a nice rumble from the exhaust)
if u have any questions im more then glad to help

ehehehe, I seriously doubt they'll ever put taht movie on TV
it's "Full Metal Jacket" by Stanley Kubrick an amazing movie, and since it doesn't seem as though you've seen it, i recommend you go and hire it on video or dvd
or drive down to my place and watch it
