since I took the car to croydon, it's been running great
my only problem is the cold start idle.
when it's cold, the idle is great, around 800rpm
but as the car warms up, this increases to over 1000rpm
I had boosted the idle up before it was fixed because it was running so awfully, and they dont seem to have fixed the cold start problem entirely.
does anyone know what the problem may be?
whether it could be as simple as adjusting the cold mixtured on the microtech, then dropping the throttle idle controller?
microtechs are always funny with cold start
since they dont have idle motor control yr best bet is to fit an auxilary air bypass device like that fitted on nissan rb engines
they run off the fuel pump power so its easy to hook up and plumb befor and after throttle body
1jzs dont have a proper idle adjustin screw
another way is to fit a solenoid on the throttle and have the microtech auxilary output turn it off at a certain temp
so when car starts the solenoid holds open the throttle a tiny bit then shuts its when car warms up
or u could try play with cold start mitures abit
the best way to turn cold start is in the mornins so its hard for workshops to get the cold start perfect when they dont have the car for much
if u wanted cold start to be good then u pay for them to tune the cold start in the mornins and get them to test it over afew days
unfortunately not many want to pay for this time
