I have a 7AFE engine - but i assume its the same for all A series and poss even all toyota engines: What increment does each timing mark stand for and what range do they cover? (ie what does the 1st and last marks represent?)
thanx.

Thanks for the reply.
So if i have say 5 timing marks (cant recall exactly) what does the mark at each extremity represent? 20 retard and 20 advance? (ie -20, -10, 0, 10, 20) ?

I THINK that's it - you can check which ones TDC by dropping a screwdriver down #1 plughole, then mark it with white paint.

most marks are in 5 degree incriments , im not sure what the timing is for a 7A... 4AC is 5 degrees, 4AGE is about 10-12 degrees
the marks and the related incriment should bo on the timing cover, most toyota engines number the incriments
