Swapping from carby to injected Mon, 12 May 2003 09:19 Go to next message
I have a 92 Corolla with the 4a-f. The head is rooted so now i need to replace it. I found someone who9 can sell me a head but its off a 4a-fe. He is selling it with wiring loom and ECU but ive heard its a big job. Can someone give me details on whats involved in the swap? If its possible and whether its worth it? Any advice would be appreciated. Cheers.

it would cost you around $2000 - $3000 for all work including head change if you paid some1 to do everything.

Reqired EFI tank or surge tank.
High pressure fuel pump and lift pump(if using a surge tank.)
Upgrade fuel lines
Most likely changes in intake tubing.
Different dizzy, electronic spark advance type - to suit ecu
Different exhaust manifold to accomodate O2 sensor
All has to be wired up.

Im sure there is a few things i've missed

Worth doing if you've got the bits and can do it yourself, but it probably would cost a bit to pay someone Surprised

Im going to do all the work myself but it sounds like its a bit of a mission....I might just put a 4a-f head in and save my cash and invest in the 100kw. Thanks for your help.
