Clunky Tailshaft

On takeoff my car shudders (a little). Now I was told the middle bracket for my tailshaft (two piece) could be too low or too high. It hasn't been moved, and there was no washers on it at all.
It was alright for at least 3 months since putting the new engine in.
I got under the car tonight and with the car in neutral I could hold the tailshaft and twist it back and forward and it would move. It wasn't tight at all (back wheels were on the ground, handbrake was on). Twisting it back and forward I could hear a definate clunk from the diff side, and a smaller clunk from the gearbox side.
What is wrong with it???

its normal to make a little clunk noise and for you to be able to move it back and forth. the question is how much does it move?
i'd check all the tailshaft bolts to make sure if they are tight, if its out of balance or loose then it should do it when driving at high speeds you should get a shudder going through your car and a shudder on acceleration. if its only on take off i personally would be having a look at your clutch or if you have a two piece flywheel i'd be cheking that out also
