bacause its around the price that rigolis 11.90 corolla went for and there are only a few people out there with that money to spend on a rolla
im sure your car is excellent but it takes a while to sell a modified car if you want the money its worth
but if you said 6k it would be gone tomorrow (i would be down to the bank straight away)
good luck with the sale of your beast champ just be patient

I think the price is very reasonable. I will most likely be selling my 4GZE SX soon and had decided to put at least $12k on it. It just takes people time to sit down and realise that to buy a standard GTI/SX and do the conversion themselves they will end up spending more than what you are asking!
Alone I bought my car for $8,500 and the conversion cost me $5K, thats $13,500 alone, never mond the other countless $$$$ spent on other parts of the car!!!!!
Stick to your guns if you dont need to sell it in a hurry, the buyer will come along sooner or later (hopefully sooner) who is prepared to pay for what he gets.

Poolshark I am well aware that you never get your money back on cars, which is why I wouldn't even contemplate asking what I have spent, or else it would be a damn expensive car to buy!!! lol
But coming from a person that knows how much it costs to get your car decent, i think the $12K GTI4All is asking is very reasonable.
Someone in NSW sold one for $18K last year!!!!

When deciding on a price, I did not expect to get anywhere near what the car has cost. Here is the simplified formula in case you are interested...
$V = K * ($C+$M+$O) * ((1 - d/100)^a) * D / S
where
K = Almost constant
$V = Value
$C = Original cost
$M = Mods cost
$O = Other costs
d = Depreciation percentage
a = Age of car in years
D = Demand [ average = 1.00 ]
S = Supply [ average = 1.00 ]

a buyer is going to consider what else he can get for 12K - and there is lot of other cars that are heaps faster/comfortable for that sort of money. you could get an turbo S13 for close to that!!

Big whoop a turbo s13 is a cruddy looking piece of work that is probably slower in stock form than this guys car . Plus this thing has major sleeper factor and the practicality of 4 doors...I can't think of a better car you could get for $12000
Gti4all, what suburb in Melbourne are you in?

its just a matter of opinion. an S13 2.0T on stock boost pulls a 14.5 - 15.0 1/4. thats on stock boost - what would it do with cheap simple mods? and I dont think that corolla looks exactly like a sleeper. - tho a CS ae82 with a GZE and stock wheels would qualify as a "sleeper".
also in the forsale section there's a mx81 gte going for 8K thats a 50% price difference. and 8k is close to what U pay for a good stock one.
p.s no offence but I think you may be a little biased judging buy your username.
but thats just MY opinion.

Not to mention buying modified cars never results in trouble free motoring. I also HAVE to agree with dylusion. you could buy an 11sec 13BT series 3 for that, engineered with simmons etc. Same sort of SX with GZE, 17s, suspension, pulley, stereo, microtech etc just sold a few weeks ago out of trado. for 9k.

I think it is DAMN rude that when someone is advertising their car for sale at a price that only they have the right to ask for, so many of you guys feel the need to "express" your negative opinions, letting us all know what else you could buy for that amount of money!
I cant wait for the day one of you have your car for sale on here. You may think twice after you taste your own medicine when people start saying what a waste of money it would be and feeling the need to let everyone else know what other cars they could buy instead!
Seriously, if you have nothing positive to say, and you are not interested in the car, then kindly move onto the next post and leave your opinions to yourself, cos quite frankly, I for one am not interested in reading YOUR biased opinion!!!!!
Who cares if they are not the most luxurious/powerful/pimping looking cars. The fact is that the AE92 has many loyal fans, and adding the GZE opens the market even further. If anything, in recent times the AE82 and AE92 have been increasing in popularity especially with the conversion to GZE and 20V are already completed.
Another point I would like to make is that most of us are well aware of what cars are on the market for similar prices and what power output they have. This is a For Sale post, not a "Come and learn about what else you can buy for $12K lesson!!" We are not all half witts in case you have not yet noticed! Being a car forum generally means that you can safely assume we are all car enthusiasts to some degree, we also know how to look up the trading post home page and do a search on other cars.
So please, in future, think before you start typing away, and ask yourself...Is anyone gonna really care what you think about the car? Will your opinion have any weight whatsoever on someones decision to buy this car????? The answer will inevitibely always be a NO!
