hey! Confused
my car when it idles blows blue/white(ish) smoke.. when its warm! you can smell burning oil when you drive it for a while as well! has got really bad l8ly! a few ppl said oil seal at the back of the turbo? wot do you guys think? some1 else said valve stem seals? does any1 know around about the cost to recondition a Garrett t25?

Freak yeah. you'll find it will smoke more at idle.
have a look in your i/c pipe work as well, if the inlet seal is leaking there'll be oil in them.

Yes most likely turbo seals - take it out, give it a bit of a hiding, then pull over and let it idle for a minute or two. If you start to choke to death, then it's a pretty sure bet the turbo seals are knackered. When you say 'garret T25', do you mean something from a Nissan engine? If so, you might well be up for an apalling repair bill.

..the motor is bluetop 4agze, now (te) with a Garrett t25 turbo from a Nissan Silvia! (ca18det)
Yes! u take it for a bit a hiding when you have stopped it smokes bad! Hasn't lost any power though!

To test if it is the rear turbo seal , Go for a drive and get the motor to operating temp then with the motor idling block off the crank ventilation breather/s for about 10 sec , if it starts pouring out smoke it will be the seal .
