4age dying after 3-5 seconds

I am just completing the conversion of my JDM ae85 to full ae86 spec. Ok, the 4age is in car now and it is starting well then dying after a consistent 3-5 seconds. If you open the throttle even slightly it dies also. Thought the fuel pump wasn't going 100% so I hard wired that and no change. It's getting good spark, injectors are fine and no apparent vacuum leaks. I can't think of anything that would produce such a consistently timed problem. Having water or air bubbles in the fuel system wouldn't cause this would it? Coil and igniter are fine.
Any thoughts?

Ok, I've unplugged the 4 main injectors and it runs exactly the same. So the cold start injector is fueling for the 3-5 seconds and turning off - no fuel. So it'd be safe to say that the fuel system itself is ok because there's enough pressure for the cold start to do it's thing. So this means my injectors aren't doing their job. Any idea what kind of voltages it should be receiving?

I have discussed this prob with a few people who have said it sounds like a faulty resistor pack... Going off info in tech reference I should have 1 ohm injectors (it's a 4age from an '83 JDM ae86) which require a resistor pack. Correct? If so, I can't locate mine. Where should it be located in the loom (if infact I should have one)?
Thanks.

have you checked that the earth for the injectors is good?? and that there is a signal leaving the ecu to power them??

The way injectors work is when the key is turned on there is continuous power supply to the injectors . The ECU operates the injectors by switching them to earth , Unplug all the injectors and with a multi meter check if there is power at the injector plugs , one terminal in each plug should have power .

I had the same problem on my 3tgte, turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. Try clamping the fuel return line and see if it runs

Out of interest, what fuel pump are you using?
