If you want a hand with the wiring I can help. Just did one myself. To make things easier get yourself a loom from an older 22RE.

Hey everyone, my first post of the forum Smile

Blaze, whats that part about the 22RE loom? I have a Triumph Dolomite Sprint running a 18R-GU with head work and mild cams (its just getting ready for rego), and my first mod after getting a new paint job is to put on EFI (assuming it'll actually fit). The hardest part IMO is going to be getting all the parts, so if I could get the loom out of an old Corona it would make life alot easier. Whats the deal?

He means you can use the ECU, wiring harness and sensors/injectors from a 22R-E. These are much easier to find than original 18R-GEU items, and with a bit of fiddling will work just as well. You still need the 18R-GEU manifold/plenum etc though.

^^^ Yupp, no worries, thanks for that.

Norbie, could you do a real quick favour for me please? In my Dolomite there's very little clearance between the airfilters from the Solex's and the brake master cylinder. If you could take a minute to quicky measure the length of the EFI manifold ect from the head to its outer-most pont, I would really, really appreciate it. I'm just worries that there's not going to be enough clearance to fit in the EFI gear. Thanks man Smile

My 18rgu with efi gear on came with all the sensors and injectors. I tried wiring up the loom myself, without success. So BansheeBuzz suplied me with a full uncut loom from a corona with and eary 22RE in it. It turns out my loom was fine. I was using a coil and ignitor from a 21RE that didn't have a ballist resistor like to old one that was on the 18rc.
I just put all the positives together and negatives together and thought that would work. not so. I ended up getting an ignitor from an old 5me as i know Norbie uses that one. It has a ballist resistor and when I wired that all up correctly the injectors started to pulse.

So all I meant was for the ease of thing using a uncut loom is easy as piss, just connect the ECU plugs up to the right wires and then the rest is self explainitory. just plug the same colour plug into the same colour sensor or injector. leave the rest that of the plugs that you don't need a lone. Simply

On another side note as Norbie said you can use the 22re gear and with a little tinkering can get it to work. At the moment i am using the AFM from a 2se camry. It still needs a slight tune throught the spring tension but on the negative it doesn't allow for the idle mixture to be adjusted. Its been blocked off. So I am swapping it this arvo for an 18rgeu one that I have.

You've dug up a thread which is about 18 months old... I don't think Blaze posts here any more.
