well so the rumour goes....anyone know for sure if the 1G bellhousing will fit the 2T/3T?

Fits like a dream. Just did it on Kool22. Need to change your clutch plate fof the bigger input shaft and the spigot bearing as well. The bellhousing we had had the slave on the passanger side which fowled the exhaust but nothing to hard.
We used the foward shifter and it was still father back than the t50 but it is better because it is closer to you and gives long people some more knee room.

if your looking for some boxes i was at SSS automotive the other week they had a few 1G/W58's and one 3T/W55
|

I've got a W55 mounting piece lying round You can swap that onto any of the W boxes so that the shifters where you want it.
Also, how much did SSS have on those W58s? My 55 is still holding up, but it's maybe an idea to grab a 58 someday..

I'll hopefully be able to pull my engine and gearbox out of the XX in the next month, that has a W57 with a G-series bellhousing.
