clutch problem? Tue, 20 May 2003 07:25 Go to next message
read about the other tread about the clutch issue, think that it might be me next time.
so wanna make sure what's going on with my clutch.
When I drive normally(I don't drive nice and slow normally), the car goes ok. But when driving slowly in the traffic, and especially when the car stop for a while and the temp gets hot(not 100% sure, but i have a feeling of this being happen when it's hot.), becoz of the slow traffic, i have to take off slowly, and the clutch will slip. I think i should call it slip, the car will go like...i don't know how to describe, it's just like a new driver that's driving the car, ppl in there will go forward and backward. and if i keep the clutch at that position, it will continue to do that, until I release the clutch or step back on it.
sorry for my english.haha...Hope it won't confuse u guys. Very Happy

I think the technical term you're looking for is "bunny hop"

Laughing

Usually means your clutch is on its way out.... I have a little ford laser that does it as well, i find it does it worse with more load on the car (more people in it)

If you can start the car on level ground by releasing the clutch smoothly without giving it any gas the clutch is ok. If not check the adjustment on the slave cylinder and fluid levels make sure they are adjusted and filled properly before replacing the clutch. Hope this helps.
