Hey all,
I am thinking about selling my RA65 Celica to buy a Sprinter...just want to see if there's any interest for it...
1985 RA65 XT
White Exterior
Black and Grey Interior (immaculate)
22R-E 120,000kms (new engine, 270,000 on car)
Well maintained, serviced every 5,000kms
Converted to unleaded (runs on PULP)
Rebuilt W55 5 speed
Body straight, little rust in hatch, few chips and scratches
MA61 Supra wheels w/ Yokohama S306 205/60 tyres (6 months old)
Sony 4x50W CD Player
Sony 6 1/2" 3-ways (mounted in front doors in fibre glass pods)
Sony 6x9s 3-ways (mounted in custom parcel shelf)
2 inch exhaust w/ 4 1/2" 3A Racing muffler
Simota open element air filter
Autotechnica steering wheel
I have pics if anyone wants me to email them.
I'm looking for $5500...unless of course you want to swap me with a sprinter...
Also i have all the origianl parts and will take a lesser offer if you do not want stereo, steering wheel, wheels etc.
Cheers
Aden.

What do you mean, converted to ULP??!!! There's no need on a 22RE.

Well, i rang up Shell and BP to check whether i could run it on ULP and they both said no, not unless i used a fuel catalyst which they both recommened a Fuel Saver inline catalyst which i got from Repco

I don't know what a fuel catalyst IS, but a 22RE will run unleaded fine. Given that LRP is basically unleaded w/ a higher octane + valve seat lube stuff anyway, I don't know what they are on about.
Though, regular unleaded has a lower ocatne rating than recommened I think (91/92), so your better off sticking with LRP @95/96 for the money rather than paying an extra cent for premium which is about the same.

Well honestly i didn't know what a fuel catalyst was until i did a bit of research on it and i asked my mechanic who basically told me that the petrol companies should know above anyone else. Even after i did install the catalyst and run it on unleaded it ran hell worse than it ever did on leaded! plus most petrol companies recommended i use some sort of additive for valve seat protection, i'd rather be safe than sorry!
I now run it on BP Ultimate which is 98 octane, runs much better than it ever did on regular unleaded or leaded. Even though i pay more for it i do get better economy.
