Modified Camry !! Power limited ! 2000/2001 Wed, 21 May 2003 14:17 Go to next message
G'day all, my friend and i just did some 'add ons' for a '00/01 Camry 2.2 . Here are the list of added mods.

Open pod filter
presurreised Fuel regulator, with silicone piping/hoses.
Larger diameter exhaust and header, added a return fuel line.
ported and polished head.

Now here's the problem, car will take off from start BUT will only reach 140Km/h and not budge. Still there's feel of torque and the pedal is only half way down. But won't top 140kmh.
Is this a ECU restriction ? or some kind of limiter ? how do i overcome this problem ??..

cheers

When did the Camry receive a maximum speed limiter in Australia ?

My 1996 model did (ahem) 200km/h without any problems.
It was a V6 5-speed.

maybey its in some fairly generous limp mode due to one of the mods. short whatever pins you have to to get it into diagnostic mode, then sell it and buy a different car (just kidding)

i don't see why it would need a different fuel pressure regulator, i would piss that off back to stock.
