I've got 4 decks, 2 cd players, 1 tape deck with detachable face. 1 cheapo tape deck

i know before the tape and one of the cd players were working.

i went to install my amp.. nothing was comming out so i went to check the remote hook up (blue wire) it was fine since it was turning on the amp just nothing comming out..

went to inspect it again and turned it over to acc..

no amp no cd.. i worry and try over 10 times. i admit to myself it could be broken, took a sniff no smell? looked at the fuse still fine, even changed the fuse a few times still no go.

i thought.. this hu must be stuffed..

so i tried the cheapo tape, which only uses ground + battery.

wala works, the others didnt..

hmm seems that all the other heads have a button and detachable face. 2 out of 3 were known to work before removing the wires.

what could be wrong here? i hope the headunits arent stuffed.. =/

i still have the warranty on the cd player 3 months old.. wonder if they'll take it back?

im broke till next week so i cant take it to an electrician.. im already prepared for the worse and have the thought of leaving money aside for repairs

try hooking it up on a bench using an old computer power supply. that way you can rule the wiring out of the equation. try hooking up each head unit directly to speakers, and then try with the amp.... make sure each component works by itself before combining them... you could use a line level out from a stereo or walkman type thing straight into the amp to check it...
go thru it systematically and you find if it works or not..

hooking up the audio/cdplayer is a raught.. you only need 2/3 wires to power it up, and 4 wires for a stereo speakers. not that hard. sure its easier to make someone do the job properly and neat.. but in the end im DIY man. nothing's better then having that feeling you did it yourself so you can stand proud and answer/help people with questions they throw at you
