Finally decided what to put into EH..

Im putting in the good old 202 (red) motor with 12 port head (Yella Terra)$498 ,Stage 4 or 5 Cam $350, Triple SU's (trading post), 1 Tonne Clutch..

Very thoughtful of them to come up with a 12 port head - for a bloody long time Holden took what Mum said about sharing very personally! 
Much as I detest 202s... good luck all the same

Why don't you do what a bloke down here did, and throw a 1U at it? (and that car at one stage was running a 400cu.in. Chev...)
It would be lighter, stonger, more powerful, last longer, and sound better than the 202...
BTW, did I mention that I like 1UZs?

Yeah I have to agree. If you are going to be spending money you want to get the best for it. The 1uzfe will certainly outperform the 202 in every aspect. Its only downside is it will be harder to install, but the benefits will certainly be worth it.

from memory... (mates with toranas) the 186 will rev better than the 202, how about adapting the injection setup from the vk commodore, you might need it to improve the drivability of a highly cammed holden red, i assume with the cam costing that much it comes with double valve springs?, plus get your self an electronic dizzy.

How about a 1JZ-GTE. Even the 2JZ-GE would be a big jump from the red motor.
