20v quads / turbo / manifolding / ke10 Fri, 23 May 2003 02:39 Go to next message
does anyone know if anyone has put 20v quad throttle bodies on a K series motor? (ie 4k etc) if so, is there an off the shelf manifold available?

I am desinging 4k turbo manifolding at the moment and i am not really sure of which route to take on the inlet side :

- single dcoe weber manifold + dcoe throttle body
- 20v quad throttle bodies on a custom manifold?
- 4k factory injection manifold
- ida throttle body on custom manifold?

i am leaning toward the 20v or DCOE setups however i do not think there will be enough room in a ke10 for weber manifold+throttle body+plenum chamber between the motor and strut tower...

any ideas anyone?

For a turbo setup I wouldn't go for quads personally. They are hard enough to balance as it is, with a sealed plenum on the end of them, they would be a nightmare..

very good point. i was thinking in terms of actual size (ie length) these are quite short but yeah i can see how it would be painful.

depending on the length of available weber manifolds i think the DCOE throttle body will only just clear the strut tower... fine for a NA setup but with a plenum chamber on the end of it i thin kit would struggle to fit at all.

4KE inlet manifold if you can get one would be the way to go!
