How to go about organising Wakefield day? Mon, 26 May 2003 02:41 Go to next message
Hi all, I am very keen to organise a Wakefield track day where we can all book out the track for ourselves.

Has anyone done this before and know the ins and outs? How many people are needed etc?

Any info and ideas would be much appriciated.

Cheers,
Joel

Has been done to death nearly
to put it bluntly, cost is too much and we cant get defineate numbers but here is the low down again
Cost= Weekdays $1,750 per day
Saturdays $2,850
Sundays $3,000 (and public holidays)
Insurance = $800

So at a minimum on a weekday if we can get 25 People it would cost just over $100

Yeah 25 people is quite a few.. Couldn't we make it so people have to put down a non-refundable deposit then when we get the numbers book a day? Making sure its a few weeks in advance so everyone can book an anual leave day or something.

Yes your right the only way the club could do it is if everyone who wanted to go would put down a big non refundable deposit.
Which might not be a bad idea
Any suggestions from the board??

history tells us that toymodders are not very reliable in paying deposits in advance...

the biggest problem is that you need to book a date before taking deposits because people will be unwilling to part with a deposit unless they know that they will be able to attend

and then there is no guarantee that you will get the required number of people so someone will make a loss on the day

That'd be good, keep us updated! I really want to start hitting the track more often. Just prefer the idea of personally booked days. Last time I went down had heaps of cars turn up on trailers and stuff and made for a bit of a shitty day when you have lots of professionals flying around the track and its your first time.

its usually on a wednseday a full day event and we get the track to ourselves, sometimes a few other cars turn up but not many at all.

it's in goulburn (about 2 hours from sydney), and the 4ac will be fine, assuming it's in ok condition.
just put some slightly thicker oil in it than usual if you have oil problems.
