Both cars have G series diffs, so yes they should be interchangeable.

They don't have G-series do they? I thought it was something different?
Nevertheless, whatever they do have, its the same

Toyota changes their axle codes in the early 90's. I think the Soarer and Supra have an A series diff according to the build plate, but it's the same as the old G series.

Except the ratio will be different.
Assuming the JZA80 is Turbo it may have a V161 (6 spd) or auto.
I think they have a final drive around 3.2:1 where as a 5spd JZZ30 will have a 3.7:1.

For the supra there are 2 diff codes
A & B.
This is the ring gear size I beleive, and is the start number.
They also have an A & B at the end of the diff code which is non lsd (A) and Torsen (B).
Jeremy, are you sure they're a renamed G series?

Um... I'm pretty sure. If not the same they would have to be similar, ie an evolution of the G series.
