1987 AE82 Twin cam, 4AGZE. I just had a look at the front engine mount (front of the car, not the motor) and the eye seems to be resting on the bottom of the mount.
I'm not sure exactly how to explain it, but isn't the eye supposed to be supported in the middle of the mount by a couple of rubber bits sticking out from the edges? This one seems to only have two, pointing from the outside, upwards towards the eye, which sits directly on the bottom part. I can stick two fingers above the eye in the mount.
That's not right is it?
Did I mention it's got a hellishly bad clutch shudder at low rpm? Decel and Acel!

Help! What now?

replace it thats what. Get your jack out with a piece of wood and on it and jack the motor up to take load of it and replace it.

They were replaced 6 months ago with Geniune toyota ones.
So you do think it's stuffed?
